Fantastic Fishing Tampa Bay

We have had some fantastic fishing in Tampa Bay and I only expect it to get better as we move further into springtime. After all the wind and cold we had in January it has been really nice to see the fish wake up and really start feeding. Every year as patterns change I can always tell when things are going to turn on. Glass minnows show up and behind them come the Spanish Mackerel and and many other species feeding on them. Typically it seems as though they really dont show into our area until March but it looks as though we have been blessed with and early hatch this year. The Scaled Sardines have been showing up at the local bridges and Markers in deep water. This makes them a bit difficult to catch, but they should be moving onto the area flats soon making my life a bit easier. Most mornings while my customers are still fast asleep I will be out on the water catching the bait for the days charter. My job starts long before they ever step foot on the boat.
Fishing tampa BayCatching the bait is necessary to have a productive Tampa Bay fishing charter. It hasn’t been easy this past month and typically it really never is. With that being said having the bait really produced some nice catches and fun filled charters. Snook, Redfish and Trout were the big 3 along with some Spanish Mackerel. Very soon I expect on the calmer days on the bay we will be targeting Mangrove Snapper.
Fishing Tampa Bay is only going to get better in the next couple of months. Now is the time to get you’re Tampa Flats and Bay Fishing Charters booked.
