26 Feb Feb./Mar. Fishing Charters
February 2015 is coming to an end. This month has been the toughest for fishing yet,so far this winter. Cold front after cold front moved through the area and changed the game. That being said we still caught fish on our Tampa Fishing Charters. The main target species had been trout. My customers caught and released some nice keeper sized trout this month.
As we move into March my predictions would be that the Redfish will become more abundant. They should start schooling up on the flats giving anglers a good shot at them. I had a chance to get out and scout for them yesterday and it is looking very promising.
The water temps should warm back up making our Snook more active. They will leave the winter haunts deep in the creeks and canals and make their way out to get the spring time feed on. I have already seen reports of the Black Drum showing up. These fish will be something to target on the deep flats and around the local bridges. Hopefully we will have a good run of Spanish Mackerel along with the King Mackerel following close behind. March can be an exciting month where everything starts to flow into the spring patterns.
Don’t hesitate to book your March fishing charter with Capt. Steve.
