08 May May 2014 Fishing is great! Tarpon are here!

Fishing so far the month of May has been great. Bait has been plentiful and so have the fish. We have been having some really nice catch’s of  Spotted Sea Trout. Keeper size trout have been the norm.

The Snook bite has been good as well. Fishing on the incoming tides has proven effective. Snook love moving water so tide move plays a large part in how they will bite.

On a recent trip we got into some really nice Red fish. These bruisers were in the 35″ range and well over slot size so it was all catch and release. They reall put my Okuma Trio reels and St. Croix rods to the test.

Tarpon have shown up and have been spotted on the beaches and area bridges. This is about the time I switch gears and start targeting the Silver King.I have found it to be most productive on the New and Full Moon tides. I have limited availability for those dates in the months of May and June.
