13 Feb Spring Time Tampa Bay Fishing
Spring time Tampa Bay fishing is one of the most productive and versatile times to catch fish in Tampa Bay. As our water temperatures start warming back up from our winter cold snaps the bait fish start moving back into Tampa Bay. Our inshore flats fishing species,Snook, Redfish and Spotted Sea Trout start feeding more aggressively as they switch there diet of shrimp and crabs and start feeding on the glass minnow, scaled sardines and pinfish that will be more abundant.
Migratory species such as King and Spanish Mackerel will be making the move along Florida’s west coast following the bait schools.Bluefish,Large Jack Cravelle and Ladyfish will also be mixed in with these other fish. All of the above make for some great rod bending action.
Our inshore reefs, wrecks and rock piles will get more lively. This time of year we will be targeting Sheepshead, Gray(Mangrove) Snapper, and Key West Grunts on the inshore structure. This type of fishing is a lot of fun and a great way to put some fish in the cooler for a few nice fresh fish meals.
