29 Oct Tampa Bay Fishing end of Oct.
This report is for Tampa Bay Fishing at the end of October 2015.
The inshore fishing has been exactly what I have expected for this time of year. Even though its been a little windy at times we have been able to tuck ourselves behind the cover of the mangrove lined areas for protection. The bait of choice right now is live scaled sardines. I usually spend the early morning hours before the days charter catching enough bait for my customers. The fish we have been targeting on our charters this month of Oct. have primarily been Snook, Redfish and Sea Trout. We have also been getting a bi catch of Jack Cravalle in the 5 to 6 pound range.
The Snook catching action has been nothing short of phenomenal ! At times it is every bait that hits the water gets attacked! It has been keeping me busy baiting hooks and helping customers to land there fish. If you have not caught Snook before it is something I suggest you try. Our Bass on Steroids as we like to call Snook, will challenge the most seasoned of anglers when you hook into the big one.
Here are a few pictures of some of Octobers Tampa Bay Fishing Snook catches.
Customers have also been reeling in some nice Redfish. These bulldogs of the bay like to play tug of war. Oct. is a prime month to catch Redfish.
The trout fishing is really picking up. This is one of my favorite times of the year to target trout. The keeper sized trout are more abundant keeping anglers rods bent. They are also a good selection for those who like to take some fish home for dinner.
Last but not least we have Jack Cravalle. Dont under estimate these fish. Pound for pound these fish are one of the hardest fighting fish in Tampa Bay! They will definitely put anglers to the test.
As you can see Oct. has produced some very nice fish. The action has been steady with rods being bent and anglers going home with some great memories. I expect November to bring much of the same action. If you want to go fishing book your charter now. This is the prime time of the year.
