18 Oct Tampa Flats Fishing Charters

This is one of my favorite times of the year for Tampa Flats Fishing Charters Starting in September our water temps start to drop. This cooling effect has positive effects on the flats fishing. Snook come out of there more lethargic summer time stage and really start eating. Redfish show up and begin to feed heavily on the bait on the flats. Spanish Mackerel feed on the fry bait and Large schools of big Jacks show up.
Talk about some drag pulling and rod bending this is the time of year for it!
Live and cut baits will do the trick. Light tackle is key to be able to present the baits in the most natural manner.
In the open water you will find Spanish Mackerel, Jacks,Trout,Sharks and a variety of other finned species. Its always a great time seeing and catching the variety of fish Tampa Bay has to offer.
